Possible topics for a Special Feature article are:
-a famous battle: e.g. Gettysburg
-a famous general or any other famous person
-medicine
-weapons of war: e.g. the Monitor and Merrimack
-women in the war
-the role of the black soldier
-camp life, etc.
Include several paragraphs that give the reader a good vision of your topic, and make sure you write from a 'northern' or 'southern' point of view. It might be interesting to write about Lincoln's Assassination from a southern point of view, or to write about Robert E. Lee from a 'northern' point of view. There are lots of ways to mix and match!
Include a Catchy Title, with good alliteration. Example: Lincoln Lays Losing Life, Amputations Are Adding Up Awfully
